M is for Magpie

M is the next letter of the Aussie Alphabet.

M is for Magpie.

Besides being known for swooping down on unsuspecting passer-by’s during nesting season, the Australian Magpie can be heard overhead, high up in the trees, performing their sweet melodies with other Magpies.

Magpies are well known for their ‘Shiny Kit Syndrome’. Actually, they are just curious about items that they find. They use them to decorate their nests. Keeping their newly decorated home intact is a good enough reason to chase people away.
